CLP expands with acquisition of ATON Environmental
Commercial Liability Partners has acquired Des Peres-based ATON Environmental, a provider of integrated environmental, health and safety, and real estate transaction support services.
ATON ENVIRONMENTAL will continue to operate under the same name but as an affiliate of CLP. ATON’s 10 employees will remain with the company, bringing the total number of employees under the CLP umbrella to 15, officials said.
The acquisition will allow CLP to grow revenue in the environmental consulting and engineering sector, as well as manage its own projects in house by using ATON as a program manager.
Recently, the group acquired the former Cincinnati coal-fired BECKJORD POWER STATION and the surrounding land from Duke Energy in February 2018. The companies are currently in the process of decommissioning the plant and performing necessary environmental cleanup to ensure that it is prime for potential redevelopment.
ATON is also working to secure remediation tax credits, and the complete remediation and redevelopment of several properties in the region, including the old Missouri National Guard Armory building in St. Louis and the former St. Mary’s Hospital complex in Jefferson City.
