FORMER MUSKIGUM RIVER PLANT
Muskigum River Development (MRD) a subsidiary of CLP acquired one of the first coal-fired power plants in the liability transfer sector - five units with a total net generating capacity of 1,425 megawatts.
THE PROJECT:
Demolish and abate all five units, suspension bridge, and conveyor systems. Remediate the middle pond by conventional capping, lower pond by clean closure, and the upper pond utilizing the proprietarty aquatic habitant capping system. All work to be completed by 2022. Beneficially reused boiler slag CCR into sand blasting material called “Black Beauty” .
