Commercial Liability Partners, the company that owns the decommissioned W.C. Beckjord Station located in Pierce Township and in the village of New Richmond, announced that it plans to partner with Walbridge, a “full-service development and construction company” based in Detroit, to redevelop the site.

The partnership with WALBRIDGE is set to be finalized in the third quarter of this year.

RON FROH, President and CEO of CLP, is quoted in the press release as saying that CLP had been looking for a redevelopment partner for the project.

“This is an early step in that process but a very important one for the Progress Point project,” Froh said.

CLP refers to its redevelopment efforts as PROGRESS POINT – a project to redevelop the former Beckjord Power Station site, noting that work there is currently in the “environmental remediation and cleanup” phase, which is expected to be completed in the next three to four years.

“Our focus over the year is to finalize the remediation and preparation at the site to best position it for redevelopment for the community. We hope to have redevelopment plans finalized by the end of 2020 and we are excited about the partnership with Walbridge given their experience and expertise redeveloping similar, former Brownfield sites.”
