Chicago, Illinois Former Crawford Station

Decommissioned since 2012, the former NRG Energy Crawford Station’s 70-acre site along Interstate 55 in Chicago, Illinois marks one of the largest infill industrial redevelopments planned inside Chicago's city limits.

The Project:

CLP teamed with Hilco Redevelopment Partners in 2018 to remediate and redevelop the former NRG Energy Crawford Station into a vibrant new industrial distribution center.

Our Role:

  • Investigation work completed by the end of 2018
  • Demo and abatement underway
  • Remediation work planned for spring of 2019
  • WWT plant demolition to be completed by the end of 2019
  • Comprehensive NFR to be obtained by the end of 2019
  • CLP assumed all subsurface liabilities and guaranteed comprehensive remedial closure backed by a PLL policy
  • Redevelopment into a large distribution center in final planning stages
